“Practice and Life”

This is me reading a chapter I wrote for a book called Overwhelm and Us, published in 2022 by Youier Media. I am struck by the reflections on the roller coaster highs and lows that articulate survival and catharsis in capitalist colonial society. It’s something I’ve thought a lot about, and moved with. Part of this chapter take it up and offer the possibility of something different. It partakes of my certainty that embodiment - the aware inhabiting of our bodies - is a political act that encompasses cultural change. Mostly though, it’s about Open Floor movement practice and navigating overwhelm.
